Title: Epoxy resin nanocomposites prepared by organic montmorillonite bearing carboxyl groups
Abstract: Organic montmorillonite bearing carboxyl groups was prepared.and the resulted organic montmorillonite was dispersed in epoxy/methyl tetrahydrophthalic anhydride system to form epoxy nanocomposites.The structure and morphology of the epoxy nanocomposites were studied by XRD and TEM.The thermal stability of the epoxy nanocomposites was examined by TGA.The results showed that the MMT could be highly intercalated by the acidified cocamidopropyl betaine(CAB) and the organic montmorillonite could be easily dispersed in epoxy resin to form epoxy nanocomposites.The thermal stability of the epoxy resin nanocomposites was correlated with the dispersion state of the MMT in the epoxy resin matrix.
