Abstract: Li Shangyin, who lived in the late Tang Dynasty when his country was declining and people were living a hard and bitter life, lived inflexibly and faced to the world with absolute sincerity. He wrote poems mixed with blood and tears, which reflect his melancholy feelings of signing himself at his early age, of yarn between lovers. These poems not only show vividly the picture of his inner sorrowful feelings but also express his sorrowful voice of worrying his country in danger and his personal dire peril, and show the rare vigrous melancholy beauty.
