Title: Chifeng-A melting-pot of minority groups in the northeast of China
Abstract: Abstrcat Liao yuan District located in Chifeng, Mongolia, an area that connects Mongolia, the northeastern and northern China. In history, many minority groups such as Susheng, Donghu, Wuhuan and Xianbei once lived here in harmony with people of inland areas. Khitan prospered in the late Tang Dynasty and established the State of Liao, whose two capitals Linghuang and Dading lay on the northern and southern banks of the Liao River. The state of Jing conquered Liao and changed Dadiag prefecture into Peking. Liao and Jing sucessively transferred to YanJing and the rorth of China became the center of political activities. After Qing people intruded into the interior sarea, Liao Yuan and the conneted with capital district was under the jurisdiction of Rehe province.
