Title: Efficacy of enalapril and spironolactone in the treatment of chronic heart failure
Abstract: Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of enalapril and spironolactone in the treatment of chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods: We divided 68 patients with CHF randomly into treatment group(36cases)and control group(36cases).The two groups were treated with the routine medicine,including digitalis,diuretics and niteates.Besides,Enalapril(10~20mg/d) and spironolactone(20~40mg/d) was added to the treatment group,and the treatment was lasted for 12 weeks.And the heart function was evaluated and heart rates and blood pressure were measured,and LVEF,LVEDD and LVESD were evaluated by echocardiography before and after the treatment.Results:After treatment,the heart function and LVEF significantly increased,while LVEDD,LVESD, blood pressure and heart rates decreased in the treatment group.There was significant difference between the two groups.Conclusion:Combination of enalapril and spironolactone is effective and safe in treating chronic congestive heart failure,which can obviously improve the remodeling of the left ventricle.
