Title: Application of spiral CT portography in diagnosis of portal hypertension in hepatitis cirrhosis
Abstract: Objective:To assess the application of spiral CT portography (SCTP) in diagnosis of portal hyertension in postheratitis cirrhosis.Methods:57 cases of hepatitis cirrhosis were performed SCTP.MIP,SSD and MPR were used as three dimensional models. Results:MIP and SSD demonstrated dilatation of portal branches of 1~2 orders and thinning and distortion of smaller branches below 1~2 orders (n=51),“withered tree” or “stump” appearance in 35 cases of portal branches (n=35);smaller branches of portal vein could not be demonstrated (n=6).The collaterals including esophageal varices (n=21),paraesophageal varices (n=14),paragastric varices (n=24),recanalized paraumbilical vein (n=11) ,and retroperitoneal varices (n=9) could be well shown. Conclusion:SCTP is an effective method in diagnosis of portal hypertension and collaterals in postheratitis and also has an important value in evaluation of the degree of portal hypertension and for planning of surgical treatment.
