Title: Quantification of intestinal bifidobacteria in the rats with precancerous lesions of colorectal cancer induced by DMH
Abstract: OBJECTIVE:To study the relationship between the quantification of intestinal bifidobacteria and precancerous lesions of colorectal cancer by using a rat model with precancerous lesions of colorectal cancer induced by 1,2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH). METHODS:The quantification of bifidobacteria of 7 control rats and 8 model rats was detected by using Bifidobacterium genus-specific real-time quantitative PCR in the third and ninth week, respectively. RESULTS:The rats of the control group had no aberrant crypts foci (ACF), while every rat of the model group had (37.7±2.6) ACF/colon in the ninth week in this experiment. No difference of the quantification of bifidobacteria was found between the control and model rats in the third week, P=0.652. In the ninth week, the quantification of the bifidobacteria of model rats was lower than that of the control group, but it showed no statistical difference, P=0.090. CONCLUSION:There is no obvious relationship between the quantification of intestinal bifidobacteria and rats’ precancerous lesions of colorectal cancer induced by DMH.
