Title: Controlled study of Venlafaxine-xr tablets and Fluoxetine in treatment of depression
Abstract: Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of venlafaxine' xr in treatment of depression.Methods:60 cases with depression were divided randomly into two groups: Venlafaxine(30 cases) and fluoxetine(30 cases).All patients were treated and observed within 8 weeks.The efficacy was evaluated by the HAMD and CGI-BP and the side effects were assessed by the TESS.Results: The score of venlafaxine and fluoxetine group are significantly declined within 8 weeks.The HAMD of Venlafaxine group has a(61.0±14.0) % reduction of 86.6% total efficiency;The HAMD of Fluoxetine group has a(60.0±12.5) % reduction of 83.3% total efficiency.There are no significant statistical difference(P0.05) between these two groups.The rate of side effects of Venlafaxine is 23.3%,and the Fluoxetine group is 26.6%.There are no significant statistical difference(P0.05) between them.Conclusions: Venlafaxine' xr is rapid,effective and safe in treatment of depression.
