Title: Aloofness and sternness: the metaphysical thoughts and poetry of Ji Kang
Abstract: Ascertaining but negating notion, Ji Kang established his theory with nature as its noumenon. According to his theory, nature was beyond notion and could be approached without earthly troubles but in his real life, he couldn't escape from them. Thus his metaphisical thoughts and poetry became contradictory, which showed his weakness in his outlook on nature. His alooofness and sternness reflect his persistence as well as puzzle.
