Title: Analysis on 175 aged patients with nosocomial deep part infections of fungi.
Abstract: Objective To analyse the situation of nosocomial deep part infections of fungi in aged patients so as to provide basis for clinical prevention and treatment. Methods 175 cases with nosocomial deep infections of fungi our hospital from January 1, 2002 to December 31, 2004 were analyzed retrospectively. Results Among the 175 cases, 151 were complicated with basic chronic illness, 171 treated with broad_spectrum antibiotics one week before the fungal infections; Respiratory tract was the main locations of infection;123 strains of Candida albicans were isolated through the culture of fungi. The mortality was 7.0% for those with early diagnosis and proper treatment of such infections, 55.6% for those with delayed diagnosis. Conclusion Fungal infection in the senile patients increases rapidly in recent years and attention be paid for control of the disease.
