Title: Exploration and implementation of research-based teaching reform on medical microbiology laboratory courses
Abstract: Teaching contents, teaching approaches, and assessment means adopted in medical laboratory courses were reformed and explored to create a research-based teaching method suitable for training students majoring in medical laboratory science. Implementation of the reform demonstrates that the research-based teaching method is effective in motivating students to learn. Students are guided by their teachers in choosing specimen from the nature and their daily lives, from which research projects of students are determined; students may actively acquire and apply knowledge and solve problems during the research process. Consequently, the new teaching method is beneficial in cultivating students' innovative spirits and implementation skills.
