Title: The Clinical Observation of Orthodontic Treatment of Subgingival Root Fracture before Restoration
Abstract: Objective To observe the clinical restoration effect of subgingivally fractured root after rapid orthodontic extrusion to appropriate position. Methods 28 crown-root fractured anterior teeth and 4 subgingivally bevel fractured premolars were selected.Temporary crown was made by fiber post and resin composite after root canal therapy.Straight wire bracket was sticked on temporary crown. All teeth were lifted up to appropriate position by diameter 0.45 mm hard wire as main wire and diameter 0.30 mm nickel titanium wire as auxiliary wire. The teeth were repaired. Results 2-4 mm extrusion was seen in all teeth. The restoration effect was satisfaction after 2 year follow-up.Conclusion The orthodontic treatment for root fracture tooth can not only preserve the root, but also acquire functional and esthetic restoration.
