Title: Change of brain structure phase radians in patients with Parkinson disease
Abstract: Objective To explore the change of brain structure phase radians in patients with Parkinson disease (PD).Methods The skull MR scane were applied in 30 PD patients by 1.5T MR.The susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) sequence was used to collect phase data. The phase radians of the interested regions were evaluated including the frontal white matter and grey matter, cerebrospinal fluid(CSF),caudate nucleus, putamen, red nucleus, substantia nigra pars compacta and reticulata, and then the results were compared with 30 normal controls. Results Compared with normal control group, the phase radians of the substantia nigra pars compacta, caudate nucleus, red nucleus in PD patients were significantly lower (all P0.05).Conclusions The brain iron deposition in PD patients might increase in substantia nigra pars compacta, caudate nucleus and red nucleus.SWI is helpful to evaluation the position of brain lesions in PD patient.
