Title: Association between Serum Uric Acid Level and Coronary Lesions
Abstract: Objective To explore the association between the serum uric acid level and coronary lesions. Methods We divided 263 patients who underwent coronary angiography into control group(n=98)and coronary atherosclerotic heart disease(CHD) group(n=165) in which patients were,in turn, divided into single-,double-and triple-vessel disease groups according to the number of vessels with significant stenosis. The serum uric acid level was determined, and the serum uric acid levels of different groups and the association between the serum uric acid level and coronary lesions were compared. Results The serum uric acid levels of control group and CHD groups were(288.47±62.18) and(436.32±65.31)μmol/L,respectively and the serum uric acid levels between the two groups were significantly differen(tP0.01).The serum uric acid levels of the single-vessel group,double-vessel group and triple-vessel group were(418.49±58.36),(448.27±60.21),(428.68±59.65)μmol/L,respectively and the serum uric acid levels in the three groups were no significantly differen(tP0.05).Conclusion Serum uric acid is one of risk factors for coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, but is not correlated with coronary lesions, supplying a warning to doctors.
