Title: Clinical effects of cognitive therapy combining with sertraline on postpartum depression
Abstract: Objective: To observe the efficacy and safety of cognitive therapy combining with sertraline in treatment of the patients with postpartum depression. Methods: A total of 80 patients with postpartum depression were randomly assigned to study group(treated by cognitive psychological therapy combining with sertraline) and control group(treated by sertraline alone) for 8 weeks. Each had 40 cases. The Hamilton Depressive Scale(HAMD) and Treatment Emergent Side Effect Scale(TESS) were used to evaluate the efficacy and adverse effects respectively. Results: After treatment of 4 weeks, the rates of patients that showed significant efficacy and efficacy in the study group was significantly higher than those in the control group(P both 0.05).After 8 weeks of treatment, the significant difference in rates of patients that showed significant efficacy remained(P0.05),but the efficacy rate was not significantly different between the two groups(P0.05).After treatment, the scores of HAMD significantly decreased in both groups(P both0.05),but it was more obvious in the study group(P 0.05).No significant difference in TESS scores was shown in neither of the two groups after treatment. Conclusions: From the aspect of early rehabilitation, cognitive psychological therapy combining with sertraline is much more effective than sertraline alone in treatment of the patients with postpartum depression.
