Title: Physiological and Biochemical Changes of Different Resistant Corn Infected with Maize Dwarf Mosaic Virus
Abstract: Dynamics in soluble sugar,MDA,H2O2 content and the activities of CAT,POD,SOD,PAL in two varieties of corn(Shen 137 and Mo17) leaves were studied for 144 hours after inoculation, which were contrasted with those of noninoculation. The results showed that the soluble sugar in resistant variety mainly manifest little change or rise and that in the susceptible variety decrease. The MDA had no significant changes both in resistant and susceptible varieties. The H2O2 content decreased in the resistant variety and had no change in the susceptible variety. The CAT activity started to decreased then increased in the resistant variety, and it was similar to control in the susceptible variety. The POD activity was higher than the control in the resistant variety and mainly lower than in the susceptible variety. The SOD activity increased in the susceptible variety and was same as the control in the resistant variety. The PAL activity began to increase then decreased in the resistant variety, while that was the opposite in the susceptible variety. The incidence of maize was lower after inoculated with diseased leaves conserved in dry condition than that in frozen condition.
