Title: Gene Therapy for Restenosis of Intimal Proliferation
Abstract: Intimal proliferation is a leading cause of restenosis after percutaneous coronary intervention.Phenotypical modulation, proliferation, migration of vascular smooth muscle cell from the media to the intima bordering the lumen and formation of extracellular matrix are involved in the process of intimal proliferation.Gene therapy of intimal proliferation is a most promising new tactic for preventing restenosis following percutaneous coronary intervention. This paper will review study results in this field.
