Abstract: In her latest novel By the Light of My Father's Smile,Alice Walker relates a story of love and forgiveness: the father exerts his patriarchal power on behalf of father's love,which estranges father and daughters.Finally the father and daughters achieve spiritual reconciliation in the Mundo's ritual.This paper,from the point of father-daughter relation,analyzes the image of father and two daughters and the process of reconciliation to demonstrate Alice Walker's ecofeminist consciousness: to overturn the mainstream ideology and values in patriarchal society and set up a world in which men and women,human and nature enjoy harmonious equality.
