Title: EXPRESSION OF uPA AND uPAR AND ITS CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE IN HUMAN BREAST CARCINOMA
Abstract: Objective To study the expression of urokinase-type plasminogen activator(uPA) and its receptor(uPAR) as well as its relationship with biological behavior of human breast cancer. Methods The expression of uPA and uPAR in 50 cases of infiltrating duct carcinoma and 20 cases of intraductal carcinoma was detected by PV 6 000 two-step immunohistochemical method. Results The positive rates of uPA and uPAR in infiltrating duct carcinoma were significantly higher than those in intraductal carcinoma(χ2=6.41,6.27;P0.05).The positive rates of uPA and uPAR in infiltrating duct carcinomas with axillary lymph node metastasis were significantly higher than those without(χ2=5.99,5.70;P0.05).There was a positive correlation between the expression of uPA and uPAR in breast infiltrating duct carcinoma(r=0.86,P0.01). Conclusion The activation of uPA and uPAR plays an important role in the infiltration and metastasis of breast carcinoma.
