Title: On Native Literati in South Anhui and Their Creation in the Tang and the Five Dynasties
Abstract: In the Tang Dynasty,Xuanzhou,Shezhou and Chizhou had approximately the same scope with the modern concept ofSouth Anhui,constituting a relatively independent and complete culture physiographic region. Along with the development of social economy,many native literati started to emerge and left large numbers of literary works in the Tang Dynasty. A thorough investigation into the number of literati in South Anhui in the Tang and the Five Dynasties,their distribution and the spread of their works,together with an analysis of the characteristics of native literati in South Anhui and their creation in terms of time and regional differences,will be helpful for further studying the achievement of native literati in South Anhui.
