Title: Numerrical Simulation on Dynamic Buckling of Cylindrical Shells Subjected to Axial Impact and the Analysis of the Stress Wave Effect
Abstract: Whole process for the axisymmetric buckling of elastic-plastic cylindrical shells subujected to axial impact is numerically studied using LS-DYNA computer code.The buckling shape and strain distribution in different time and force-time history in different loading condition are given.It is found that the development of the buckling shape depends on the material property and the geometry of the shell and impact condition.Particular attention is paid to the influence of stress wave propagation and transverse inertia of the shell on initiation of buckling.
