Title: On the Important Role of Lexical Meaning in Choice of Verb Tenses:A Case Study of Grammar in 2008 TEM 4
Abstract: The simple present tense of transitional and conclusive verbs cannot be used to denote certain change brought about at present or consequence of the present time.Further,the combination of infinitive forms of transitional and conclusive verbs with the past tense of modal verbs cannot be used to express the assumption of clause in subjunctive mood.The above principles are instructively significant to the English teaching at various levels.
