Abstract:[Objective]To study the causes,clinical characteristics,treatment and prevention of glucocorticoid glaucoma.[Methods]The causes,characteristics,treatments and effects of 103 cases(197 diseased eyes)of...[Objective]To study the causes,clinical characteristics,treatment and prevention of glucocorticoid glaucoma.[Methods]The causes,characteristics,treatments and effects of 103 cases(197 diseased eyes)of glucocorticoid glaucoma were analyzed generally and retrospectively.[Results]In the studied 103 cases,male 55 cases,female 48 cases,4-74 years old.All cases used glucocorticoid eye drops locally because of immunologic conjunctivitis or other inflammations.25 cases used glucocorticoid both locally and systemically.The mean therapeutic time:adult 8±1.67days,children 16±11.22 months.All cases were with open angle glaucoma.Ocular pressures became normal after therapy.[Conclusion]Unprofessional use of glucocorticoid is the important cause of glucocorticoid glaucoma,early diagnosis and prompt treatment are the effective ways in controlling glucocorticoid glaucoma.Read More
