Title: Studies on Phase-Transfer Catalysis Properties of Triethyl Benzyl Ammonium Chloride
Abstract: In This paper, the phase transfer catalyst three ethyl benzyl chloride(TEBA) was prepared from triethylamin and benzyl chloride After quaternized reactive, the yield was higher than 80%.Through experiments to explore, the optimum reaction conditions were determined:isopropanol as the solvent,n(N(C2H5)3):n(C6H6CH2Cl)=1: 1,T=82℃~84℃,t=8h;Its structure was confirm by IR.The three ethyl benzyl ammonium chloride used in the synthesis reaction of Benzoic acid(aromatic hydrocarbon oxidation) and p-nitroanisole(nucleophilic substitution),the product yield significantly improved, reaction time was significantly shorter, and further identified as a phase transfer catalyst TEBA in the above two reactions in the best application conditions.
