Title: Primary sacral neoplasm: histopathology and imaging manifestations
Abstract: Objective:To describe the image manifestations,pathology types of sacral neoplasm.Methods:The histopathology type of the 48 primary sacral neoplasm were all obtained by operation.Routine radiographic film,CT and/or MR were analyzed retrospectively in all cases.Results:Among all 48 primary sacral neoplasm cases,histopathology revealed the most were chordomas(21 cases),the second were giant cell tumors(7 cases),and neuromas(7 cases),chondrosarcoma(4cases),synoviosarcomas(3 cases),sacral cysts(3 cases) are relatively common in primary tumor.Image manifestations such as soft tissue mass,enlarge of sacral foramen,calcification and marrow involvement were observed in different sacral tumors.The image features of common sacral tumor were also revealed.Conclusion:To diagnose primary sacral neoplasm correctly need combine the different image instruments and analyze the image manifestations synthetically due to the complication histopathology of sacral tumors.
