Title: The Development of Standards for the Accreditation of Teacher Education in America
Abstract: This paper takes The National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education(NCATE)as a case study,and builds a conceptual framework of objective-based accreditation,curriculum-based accreditation,knowledge-based accreditation and performance-based accreditation.The study focuses on exploring the features and theoretical bases of accreditation standards,and analyzing NCATE's viewpoints on teacher education in different periods.Finally the paper gives some suggestion on teacher education reform in China.
