Title: Preparation and Performance Research on Octadecane/Bentonite Composite Phase Change Thermal Energy Storage Material
Abstract: Octadecane/bentonite composite phase change thermal energy storage material containing 33.33% (mass fraction) is prepared using octadecane as phase change material and organically modified bentonite as a supporting matrix by combining microwave irradiation with heating intercalated reaction. The structure and thermal properties of composite phase change material(PCM) are characterized by means of XRD,DSC and POM The results show that octadecane intercalated into the nano-layers of modified bentonite lead to enlarging distance of layers.Phase change temperature of composite PCM is 27.03℃that is similar to that of octadecane, and the latent heat of composite PCM is 67.22J/g that is equivalent to the calculated value based on the 33.33%mass fraction of octadecane in composite material. After 500 times heating/cooling cylce, the intergallery distance and phase change temperature of composite PCM show little changes, the latent heat reduces about 3%.
