Title: Clinical application on controlled ovarian stimulation using the Letrozole combined with gonadotropins for in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer
Abstract: Objective:To study the efficacy of the Letrozole combined with gonadotropins on the controlled ovarian stimulation for in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer.Methods:237 patients,336 cycles were divided into short GnRHa protocol group (n=146)and the Letrozole group(n=190).Parameter of controlled ovarian stimulation and clinical effect in the two groups were comparedResults:Patient characteristics were similar between the two groups. There were no significant differences in mean age,the distribution of indications for IVF,fertilization rates, pregnancy rates, abort rate, implantation rate, number of embryos transferred,or embryo score.Peak E2 levels, duration or doses of gonadotropins required, number of oocytes,or percentage of mature oocytes obtained were significantly lower while the P and LH level on the induce day were significantly higher in the Letrozole group. Conclusion:The Letrozole combined with gonadotropins on controlled ovarian stimulation for IVF-ET will not harmful to the outcome of IVF but can reduce the duration or doses of gonadotropins required compared with the short GnRHa protocol.
