Abstract: Pieces of the corms, scales and apical buds of konjac (Albus guripingensis) were cultured as explants on different media. MS+6-BA 0.5~1.0 mg/L +NAA 0.5~1.0 mg/L appeared to be optimum for callus induction, with an induction rate of 100% for the corms and the scales, though no calli were regenerated from the apical buds. For regeneration of plantlets from the calli, the optimum medium was MS+BA 1.5 mg/L +NAA 0.01 mg/L , with a differentiation rate of 90% or more. On such a differentiation medium, 72% of the cultured apical bud explants produced rosette plantlets. All the regenerated plantlets rooted readily on MS+NAA 0.3~0.5 mg/L and grew into complete plants.
