Title: EFFECT OF COAL PITCH AND MIXING RATIO OF COKE GRAIN ON PROPERTIES OF GRANULAR CO KE REINFORCED PITCH- BASED CARBON COMPOSITES
Abstract: Granular coke reinforced pitch- based carbon composites (CRPCC) wi th high density and low cost was fabricated under atmospheric environment by use of mould pressing and semi- carbonization technology. The effect of coal pitch types, metallurgical coke additive into coke reinforcement and mixing ratio of coke grain on density and compressive strength of CRPCC materials was studied in detail. The results show that the density and compressive strength of CRPCC mat erials fabricated using coal pitch with higher soft point are not as high as exp ected, and CRPCC materials with better density and higher compressive strength a re prepared when metallurgical coke is added into coke reinforcement.
