Title: Evaluation of the biocompatibility of PGA with oral keratinocyte & fibroblast
Abstract: Objective:The aim of this study was to evaluate the biocompatibility of PGA with oral keratinocyte fibroblast and to improve cell!seeding methods for developing tissue engineered oral mucosa.Method: Human oral keratinocytes and fibroblast were seeded on PGA mesh separately. 1) Observe cell attachment and tissue development on the PGA scaffolds by light microscopy and electron microscopy. 2) In addition, MTT was also performed to document growth of oral mucosa keratinocyte and fibroblast.Result: Cells can attach and grow on the PGA scaffolds, The fibroblasts and keratinocytes were also found to grow faster on PGA fibers than on culture dish. Conclusion: PGA has excellent biocompatibility with oral mucosa keratinocytes and fibroblast. It's feasible to use it to develop a new functional tissue in vitro.
