Title: Studies on patterns of energy dynamics of Trifolium repens on high mountain swards in Hubei China
Abstract: Both the caloric value and the energy of modules of T. repens had cyclical fluctuations in growing season. The order of caloric value of modules of T. repens was inflorescence(21.1 kJ/g),stolon(20.5 kJ/g),leaf(20.0 kJ/g),and root(19.0 kJ/g).The first peak time of leaf caloric value occurred between May and June, while the second one occurred from August to November. There was little difference of average energy among leaf, stolon and root. The seasonal average of energy of leaf, stolon and root was 1 383.5,1 424.6, 1 386.1 kJ/m 2 respectively, while the max value was 2 423.6,1 926.1,1 710.1 kJ/m 2 . There were significant correlationships between caloric values, energy of T. repens modules and growing days, precipitation and temperature.
