Title: Comparison between Sevoflurane Inhalation and Propofol Intravenous Induction of Anesthesia in Elderly Patients
Abstract: Objective To compare the effects and adverse reactions of sevoflurane and propofol anesthesia in anesthesia induction in elderly patients in order to find a more suitable induction of anesthesia for elderly patients. Methods Forty ASAΙ~Π patients undergoing the elective abdominal surgery, aged 60-79 years old, weight 58~70 kg,were randomly divided into two groups:sevoflurane inhalation induction group(Sev group,n = 20),and the Propofol-induced group(Pro group,n = 20).There was no significant difference in age and body weight of patients between the two groups.Results(1) Patients in Sev group lost consciousness significantly sooner than the Pro group(P0.01),there was a significant difference. There was no difference in intubation time between the two groups(P0.05).(2) The incidence of intubation response in Sev group was higher than Pro group.(3) There was a significant difference in SBP,and HR of patients in the two groups between before using laryngoscope and before induction(P0.01);There was no significant difference in SBP,DBP,HR,SpO2 of patients between the two groups. Conclusions Sevoflurane inhalation induction and intravenous propofol induction can achieve rapid induction of anesthesia in elderly patients, but the blood pressure of patients falls with different degrees.Sevoflurane inhalation induction of anesthesia is relatively faster, the consciousness disappearance time and intubation time are shorter, but intubation responses are more.
