Title: Preface of War of Taiwan Strait and Li Jingsong,Magistrate of Taiwa at the Time of Yiwei Period
Abstract: Li Jingsong,a native of Xiangtan and Magistrate of when the Qing government was forced to sign the Treaty of Shimonoseki, ceding to Japan. He was the speaker of parliament, state councilor and magistrate of when Democratic Republic was founded, and he led Xinchu troop, together with Heiqi troop headed by Liu Yongfu, fought against for six months. The Democratic Republic was an anti-Japanese power in the name of independence, actually it depended on the Qing government,so it couldn't be the excuse for the Taiwan independence activists. If a country did something wrong,no matter when it was made,i.e.in the past or at present, and no matter whether the former leaders or their successors did the wrong, apologies should be made by the current leaders to the victims. It is beneficial to dissolve public resentment and ethnic conflict, which has become an international new trend. The Chinese Government has always claimed the idea of looking forward about Sino-Japanese relations, but quite a few politicians haven't the courage of facing the history. They have made frequent visits of the Yasukuni Shrine, and failed to admit the fact that Diaoyu Island belongs to Chinese territory. That's why there are so many works on the subject of Chinese resistance against Japanese.Chinese and called his counterpart contemptuously by the name of Japanese pirates and Shina respectively in history. The distinction of such contemptuous names lies in quotation and narrative phraseology used by the author.
