Title: Effect of Low Temperature on Physiological Indexes of Ray Florets in Winter Chrysanthemum at Different Flowering Stages
Abstract: The relative electric conductivity(REC),content of MDA,soluble sugar and protein, and SOD,POD activity of ray florets under natural low temperature were investigated in two winter cut chrysanthemum cultivars 'Hanbai' and 'Xuezhonghua'.The results showed that along with the change of natural low temperature, the changeable tendency of REC,MDA content of two cultivars was opposite to that of the low temperature, while SOD,POD and content of soluble protein were highly related to the low temperature, and the soluble sugar content accumulated all the time. The change of REC,MDA in 'Xuezhonghua' and at initial flowering stage were more smooth than those in 'Hanbai' and at full flowering stage, the ability of regulating the activity of SOD and the content of soluble sugar and protein in 'Xuezhonghua' and at initial flowering stage was also higher. It could be concluded that the chilling tolerance of 'Xuezhonghua' and at initial flowering stage was higher than that of 'Hanbai' and at full flowering stage.
