It formed a triadic relationship with the traditional way of studying Ch...Since the 1990s there has been a trend in North America to study Chinese philosophy from analytic and comparative perspectives. It formed a triadic relationship with the traditional way of studying Chinese philosophy as in Chinese studies and with the reconstructionist study of Chinese philosophy. Three types of scholars have been involved in this trend. They are Chinese philosophers in North America, students from philosophy departments with strength in Chinese philosophy, and traditional Western analytic philosophers turned to Chinese philosophy. Although the merit and weakness of this kind of study of Chinese philosophy still need to examined, it has the notable effect of promoting Chinese philosophy on the world stage and enhancing the dialogue between Chinese and Western philosophy. Studying and understanding this significant trend can help us better understand the state of Chinese philosophy in the world and benefit our own study of Chinese philosophy.Read More
