Title: ANALYZING THE CONTENT OF CONJUGATED LINOLEIC ACID IN THE MUSCLES OF SUNITE LAMB WITH GC-MS COMBINATION TECHNIQUE
Abstract: Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a group of geometric and positional isomers of linoleic acid. It has a variety of physiological functions. As the product of rumen microorganism, the meat products of ruminants are the rich natural sources of conjugated linoleic acid. This study adopted GC-MS combination technique and measured the total content of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) in the fat of muscle tissues and abdomen of five-month-old Sunite lamb. The results indicated that the mean of the relative percentage of CLA contained in the longissmus dorsi muscle was 0.83% and CLA contained in abdominal fat was 0.99%.
