Title: An Improvement of Liquid Phase Oxidation of Toluene to Benzaldehyde
Abstract: In liquid phase condition, the oxidation of toluene to benzaldehyde by air in a gas-liquid-solid reactor has been investigated. The main catalyst of ME05(mixture of copper oxide and manganese butyrate) and the promoter of ME12(mole ratio of ammonium chloride and potassium chloride is 1:1) were made by ourselves, and the solvent of butyric acid, the initiator of benzaldehyde were selected. The suitable conditions for oxidation were: the usage of main catalyst of ME05,the promoter of ME12, the butyric acid and benzaldehyde were 0.1%, 0.002%, 10%, 0.001% by weight of toluene respectively, T=110℃, P=0.8MPa, and the reaction time was 2 hours. In this case, the single yield of benzaldehyde reached 21.1%.
