Title: THE DISTRIBUTION AND ARTERY-VEIN-ACCESS OVERFLOW OF ALBUMIN MICROSPHERES INJECTED INTO THE EXTERNAL JUGULAR ARTERY
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the distribution and the Artery Vein Access overflow amount of Φ56 3μm albumin microspheres (AMS) injected into the external jugular artery. Methats 125 I labeled AMS was injected into the rabbit's external jugular artery. The proportion of microspheres in the vein blood was measured. The distribution in internal organs of AMS injected through external jugular vein was also observed. Results Only 0 51% of radioactive amount appeared in the vein blood after AMS was injected through external jugular artery. When the AMS was injected through external jugular vein, the embolization of microspheres was found restricted in lung. There was no obvious influence on other important organs. Conclusion Considering of the gentle general side effect, the Φ56 3μm AMS is safe as a drug carrier in infusion chemotherapy of the oral cancer.
