Title: Efficacy of Comprehensive Rehabilitation Model for Children with Cerebral Palsy in Social Welfare Institutions
Abstract: Objective:To explore the efficacy and its influencing factors of comprehensive rehabilitation model for children with cerebral palsy in social welfare institutions.Methods:126 children with cerebral palsy received comprehensive rehabilitation therapies for one year,including sensory integration training,exercise therapy,occupational therapy,physical therapy and conductive education.Evaluation of rehabilitation was administered with comprehensive functional evaluation scores for cerebral palsy before training and 6,12 months after treatment.The data obtained were analyzed for ANOVA using SPSS software package.Results:For the comprehensive functional evaluation,the score after treatment for 6 months was higher than before the treatment(P0.01),while the score after treatment for 12 months was higher than that after treatment for 6 months(P0.01).Sex,age of children and the type of cerebral palsy showed no significant efficacy on time of rehabilitation in the groups.The age and type of cerebral palsy showed significant effect on time of rehabilitation between the groups except sex of children.The interaction of age and type of cerebral palsy showed no statistical difference.Conclusion:Comprehensive rehabilitation of pediatric cerebral palsy in social welfare organizations has satisfactory efficacy.The factor of sex had no significant effect on rehabilitation,but the factors of age and type of cerebral palsy had significant effect on rehabilitation.
