Title: Structural Type and Characteristic of Agent-Object Clause
Abstract: The agent-object clause is one in which the object in the clause is the agent of action of the predicate-verb. This is a comparatively peculiar sentence-pattern in modern Chinese language. The author makes effort to discuss its structural type and characteristic by means of analysis of direct agent-object clause in grammar. The characteristic of agent-object clause with one-way verb is that there is an agent relationship between the verb and the noun which follows the verb; the characteristic of agent-clause with two-way verb is that there is relationship of agent-acception between the noun with the verb which follows it, and the action-verb with the noun at the head of the sentence. The article gives a preliminary analysis of the characteristic of the verb in agent-object clause.
