Title: Changes of brainstem auditory evoked potentials and blink reflex in migraninreurs during attack
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the changes of brainstem auditory evoked potentials(BAEP) and blink reflex(BR) in migraineurs during attack. Methods: BAEP and BR were performed on 45 migraineurs. Results:BAEP and BR Showed brainstem dysfunction in 31(69%) patients and afferent pathway impairment of auditory nerves, trigeminal nerves, and efferent pathway impairment of facial nerves were found in 26(58% of the total cases) cases, in which 21 cases were afferent pathway impairment of trgeminal nerves, accounting for 81%. Conclusion:Migraine attack miyht be characterized by brainstem and trigeminal nerve dysfunction which may interplay with the dysfunction of blood vessels.
