Abstract:Aside from Sino-Indian border problem and Sino-Parkistani relation,problem of Indian Ocean has also been looming larger in Sino-Indian relation in recent years.This problem originates both from the po...Aside from Sino-Indian border problem and Sino-Parkistani relation,problem of Indian Ocean has also been looming larger in Sino-Indian relation in recent years.This problem originates both from the post-cold-war geo-political situation standing in sharp relief and from China and India's value-assesment of Indian Ocean in their respective national development.China approaches the Indian Ocean indirectly,namely in the name of cooperation,in order to maintain its legitimate strategic interests in the region of Indian Ocean.But India holds that China is a challengingly big country.Therefore,its involment in what India consider its backyard——Indian Ocean——should be deemed as a threat to India.Departing from this understanding,India has adopted various measures to counterbalance China's influence in the Indian Ocean.Reaction on the part of China is comparatively prudent and modest.The problem of Indian Ocean should not be the hot spot of the Sina-Indian relation.We hope that the Indian Ocean of the future will be the Indian Ocean of cooperation,not the Indian Ocean of conflicts.The problem of the Indian Ocean could be good for the Sina-Indian relation.Read More
