Title: NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF ROTATING CYLINDERS STREAMING IN ROTATING COORDINATES
Abstract: It will be simple when governing the equations from the Cartesian coordinate system into the rotating coordinate system in dealing with certain issues,such as rotationally symmetric unsteady problems. That treatment such as rotational symmetry of the flow field simulation,using rotating coordinate system will allow the flow field to be viewed as a steady-state problem which will save computing time greatly. In the rotating coordinate system Reynolds averaged N-S equations,the convective fluxes are computed using jameson scheme,for turbulent flows the Spalart-Allmaras are available to simulate the rotating cylinder in the case of certain stream velocity. In order to observe the flow at different times,the dual time-stepping methodology was taken. By comparison with the experimental results it is indicate that the rotating coordinate system of equations is indeed able to calculate the flow field.
