Title: Effects of Trimetazidine Therapy on the Left Ventricular Remodeling and Cardiac Function in Patients of Ischemic Heart Disease with Cardiac Failure
Abstract: ObjectiveTo explore the effects of trimetazidine(TMZ)therapy on the left ventricular remodeling and cardiac function in patients of ischemic heart disease with cardiac failure(IHDCF).Seventy-eight patients of IHDCF with left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)≤40% and Ⅱ~Ⅳ grade of cardiac function (New York Heart Association) were randomly divided into two groups on the basis of routine treatment: ① TMZ group (n=40) and ②Control group(n=38).The therapy was kept up for 6 months . The data of ventricular function were measured by echocardiography at baseline and 6 months after admission.Compared with the results in control group after treatment for 6 months , the symptom scores and cardiac function in TMZ group improved, as reflected by the remarkable increase of LVEF [(48.9±9.5)% vs (35.2±8.7%)(P0.01)] and the decline of left ventricular end systolic volume(LVESV) as well as left ventricular end systolic dimension (LVESD) [(159.2±46.7) ml vs (179.8±48.5) ml ](P0.05) and [(32.7±4.1) mm vs (39.5±3.93)mm,P0.05] ,respectively. Moreover, when compared at the baseline, the left ventricular end diastolic volume (LVEDV) and left ventricular end diastolic dimension (LVEDD) decreased 6 months after treatment (P in both 0.05), but no obvious statistical differences existed between two groups.[Conclusion]Based on the standard therapy of heart failure, application of TMZ can prominently improve the left ventricular remodeling and cardiac function in patients of IHDCF.
