Title: Study on the Habitats of the Vegetation on the Dunes with the Different Stabilities in the Minqin Sandy Area
Abstract: The species, coverage and height of the plants growing on the fixed, semi-fixed and mobile dunes in Minqin sandy area are different, and the natural vegetation on dunes is dominated by shrubs and herbages, such as Nitraria tangutorum, Tamarix ramosissima, Artemisia arenaria, Suaeda glauca,Agriophyllum squarrosum and Limonium aureum, and the planted plants are dominated by Haloxylon ammodendron and Calligonum mongolicum. In this paper, the habitats of the fixed, semi-fixed and mobile dunes in Minqm sandy area are researched. The results show that the growth of the dominant species of plants on the fixed dunes is not so well, the dried-up of the plant tips and the plant death are universal, the accompanying plant species art less and their coverage is low. The habitats are strongly affected by the moisture content in dunes, the moisture content in the fixed dunes is the lowest and their habitats are the poorest. It is easy to form the clay or silt crusis on the surface of the fixed and semi-fixed dunes. Water conservation capability of topsoil is high, so precipuation is difficult to permeate downward. The coverage of the accompanying plants does not increase with the increase of water conservation capability of topsoil because the precipitation in the study area is less, the climate is and, and the moisture in topsoil is easy to be evaporated.
