Title: The Influence of M235T Allele Polymorphism on Blood Pressure
Abstract: Objectives: To study the association between M235T allele polymorphism in exon 2 of angiotensinogen(AGT) gene and essential hypertension(EH). Methods: Polymerase chain reaction combined with restrict enzyme digestion was used to detect the target gene variation in 105 normotensive controls and 102 hypertensive patients. Results:(1)T235 allele frequency was significantly higher in hypertensive patients than in controls and it was noticeably higher in male hypertensives;(2)Among the EH patients with family history, the frequency of T235 genotype (42.1% vs 18.8%) were higher in EH than in controls. Conclusion:(1)The M235T allele variation was associated with EH,especially in male;(2)The T235 genotype were associated with EH with family history
