Title: Investigation and analysis of nosocomial infections in gastrointestinal surgery department
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To analyze the characteristics and the related risk factors of nosocomial infections in gastrointestinal surgery department,and to discuss the effective precautions and control meausres of nosocomial infections so as to reduce the rate of the infections.METHODS All patients between Jan.2010and Jun.2012in gastrointestinal surgery department were investigated using prospective and retrospective methods.RESULTS Totally 101cases and 128case-times of nosocomial infections occurred in 1673cases of hospitalized patients,and the infection rate was 6.04%,the case-time infection rate was 7.65%.Amoay nosocomial infection cases,surgical sites and the lower respiratory tract infection accounted for 74.22%.Main pathogenic bacteria were normal strains of skin and intestinal tract:bacterial 85.84% and eumycete 14.16%.Nosocomial infection rate of perforating appendicitis and alimentary tract perforation were high,13.43% and 11.22%,respectively.And the nosocomial infection often occurred in patients with intestinal obstruction and alimentary tract malignancy.The rate of multiple infection was as high as 16.83%.CONCLUSIONSurgical site infection and lower respiratory tract infection were the main infection sites in gastrointestinal surgery department.The nosocomial infection rate can be decreased by controlling surgical site infection and lower respiratory tract infection.
