Title: The Assessment of Various Imaging Methods for Renal Arteries of Living Renal Donors
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the various imaging methods for renal arteries of living renal donors. Methods Among 30 cases, multislice spipral computed tomography angiography(MSCTA) was performed in 12 cases, digital substraction angiography (DSA) in 10 cases,non-enhanced magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) in 4 cases, both CTA and DSA in 3 cases, and DSA and non-enhanced MRA in one case. Results 68 renal arteries were displayed in 30 cases.CTA in 15 cases demonstrated bilateral kidney to be all supplied by single artery in 13 patients,of them, one of left renal artery divided early than normal in company with deformity of double renal pelvis and renal duct, another 2 patients had accessory arteries in left renal and right renal respectively,3 cases were undergone DSA simultaneously which showed the similar results as CTA.DSA in 14 cases displayed bilateral renal solitary artery in 8 patients and accessory arteries in 4 patients.MRA showed bilateral renal solitary artery in 3 patients and accessory artery in two cases. Conclusion The appearances of preperative CTA and DSA examination of the renal arteries in renal donors are corresponding to that in surgery and more accurate than that showed on non-enhanced MRA.Moreover,CTA can substitute DSA for its quickness, convience, cheapness and no injury.
