Title: Grafting copolymerization process of OCC fibers with hexanelactam
Abstract: The main process parameters of grafting copolymerization modification of OCC pulp cellulose with hexanelactam were discussed by using potassium persulphate-sodium bisulfite as initiator under alkaline medium. The results show that the maximum grafting ratio can be up to 25.6%,and the mechanical strength and water resistant property of the handsheet can be raised when the quality ratio of monomer to pulp is 0.5,the ratio of initiator dosage to fiber is 8.0%,the ratio of potassium persulphate to sodium bisulfite is 5:4,the reaction time is 2.5h and the reaction temperature is 60℃.The structures and properties of the grafted products were also characterized by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction. It was found that the grafting copolymerization mainly occurs on the surface and within the amorphous region of the fiber;the crystallinity can not be destroyed.
