Title: Expression of Livin in gastric dancer and its clinical significance
Abstract: Objective To detect the expression of Livin in human gastric carcinoma and to analyze the relationship between Livin expression and cliniopathologic features. Methods The expression levels of Livinα and Livinβ mRNA were determined by RT-PCR.The relationship between Livin expression and clinicopathologic features was analyzed. Results The expressions of both Livinα and Livinβ mRNA were detected in 21 of 40 gastric carcinoma cases(52.5%).No expression of Livin was detected in 20 cases of benign gastric lesion.A positive correlation was found between Livin expression and poor differentiation as well as lymph node metastases(P0.05).No significant influence was detected by age, sex, and growth position of the expression of Livin in gastric carcinoma. Conclusions Livin is expressed in gastric carcinoma especially with a correlation to tumor differentiation and lymph node metastasis.Livin might serve as a new target for apoptosis-inducing therapy of gastric cancer.
